Hello future self, this was your life ten years ago. You were spending most of your days in UP and in your tiny castle in Eastwood. You miss story telling, hence this blog. You were a story-teller before until instagram appeared - a platform that makes it hard for people to write because it has this toxic thing which makes the storyteller think way too much about what people will say about his or her story. Anyway, so from xanga to livejournal to tumbler to blogger, you're slowly trying to get back on it on your free time.

You love what you do. You love design. You've been working from home since 2012 because you realized commuting in Manila is a waste of life. Your country's slowly deteriorating because of its corrupt leaders. It gets harder everyday. The traffic is crazy, it's hard to go out. They killed uber, grab is over priced, killing angkas as well, you've had bad experiences in busses and jeepneys and there is no way you will drive in your city. Peso is so low, quality food is expensive... At the moment you've been 2 weeks in your folks' house because you had an asthma attack due to Taal's ashes. Also there's a vast number of chinese "tourists" getting in your country. You've been rudely hit on by their men who live across the halls of your condo. They spit in your elevators, and they reek of cigarettes and sweat. There's probably thousands of them in Eastwood.

The president doesn't care. Anyway back to you.

You quit dairy which miraculously solved your skin problems. You also, most of the time, only eat gluten-free food because you realized it's good for your hormones. You make sure you work out at least three times a week because it makes you feel good. Your times of the month have been a breeze after making these small decisions. You are in control of your life anyway. You have been spending most of your time with your siblings, your forever support group, the type of friends who will never disappear because you guys are bound by blood. You are all health buffs by day. You like going to trips together. Most of your high school and college friends are married and are busy having babies. You and your siblings however, are still enjoying life, so much things to do! So many places to go!

You did your research about freezing your eggs but apparently it kind of sucks in where you are because "ethical code in the country is that you can’t fertilize your egg unless it’s your husband’s sperm" so yeah, your country is so freaking backwards. Both of your parents are waiting for grandkids but you and your siblings are all like... soon soon. You love your parents so much you really enjoy hanging out with them. Right now your family has two chihuahuas, Claudio and Olio. Olio evolved from Oreo, to Olio to Oli to Oni, your mom is very fond of him. Your mom just retired last year, your dad in three years, which also means goodbye UP House and finally moving to Antipolo.

You miss your band, you miss making music.

You're slowly moving somewhere else, if everything goes well. You're still the same 'planner' kind of person. You like getting your tasks done but when it comes to life plans you leave a little room for spontaneity. You say you don't like surprises but secretly love it and you don't get easily disappointed when things don't go as planned. You know life is not perfect and there are things you have no control of, you have accepted it. You're pretty chill now. You're also hungry and craving for a veggie bowl.

Wonder where you'll be in ten years? Hopefully have a kid or two, more relaxed and your country's in a better situation.
